Silica 117 is a natural mineral water made exclusively from natural hot spring water. The source (hot spring water) is bottled under strict control, undergoing a process of impurity filtration and high-temperature sterilisation. According to compositional analysis, it is rich in silica at 120mg/L and hydrogen carbonate ions at 510mg/L. This is considred to be one of the highest levels in the world.
The hot spring is located at the foot of Mount Kirishima, deep in the north of Kagoshima Bay, and the characteristic geological formation of Kagoshima is the Shirasu Plateau. Most of it was deposited by pyroclastic flows from a major eruption tens of thousands of years ago, and the main component of Shirasu is silica.
This soft water can be used for cooking and baking as it facilitates the production of soup stock from dried bonito flakes, wakame seaweed, etc. Of course, it is also ideal for mixing with alcoholic beverages.
