September 7 Is National Beer Lovers Day! Celebrate With Echigo Koshihikari Lager!

What Is Beer Lovers Day?

National Beer Lovers Day (September 7) is an opportunity for beer enthusiasts to celebrate their favorite boozy beverage.  Beer and the process of brewing beer may predate known history. As varied as the methods, grains, and flavors, beer continues to change and evolve.

Beer is loved so much so that there are a number of “holidays” devoted to it. In fact, you might recall that we just celebrated National IPA Day on August 4th and International Beer Day on August 5th.

This holiday is the best time for all beer lovers to enjoy unique brews and connect with like-minded people. And speaking of unique brews, Echigo Koshihikari Beer is a truly special one that is perfect for the occasion!

Celebrate With Beer From the Very Pioneers of Japanese Craft Beer

Craft beer was born in Japan in 1994, when the Liquor Tax Law was amended to significantly lower the minimum production volume required to obtain a beer manufacturing license, allowing small and medium-sized brewers to produce beer. At that time, Echigo Beer was one step ahead of the rest of the country in opening a brewpub and brewing the first domestic craft beer in Japan. In other words, the founding of Echigo Beer marked the birth of craft beer in Japan.

Echigo Koshihikari Beer is the flagship brand of Echigo Brewery. It is a rice style lager with 5% alcohol. It’s a pale golden color that comes out of the bottle, with a strong head that quickly fades. It has a slightly acidic tang to the regular lager flavor, but it is not too overpowering. The beer has a crisp and refreshing flavor, and exceptionally soothing and smooth quality. The sweet aroma of rice, and eloquent fragrance of hops, make it the perfect complement to any dish.
