In the 1980s, Norimichi Kusumi, a visionary sake brewer from Washima village in Niigata Prefecture, was stirred by the desire to resurrect Kamenoo. Motivated by the words of a seasoned master brewer, Kusumi invested three years to cultivate enough grains for sake production. The saga of Kamenoo found its way into the hearts of many through the popular Japanese manga "Natsuko no Sake." Today, over a hundred distinctive brands crafted from Kamenoo rice stand as a testament to its revival.
