Success beckoned, but fate had a cruel twist. Just when the annual Fuigo Festival, a cherished tradition involving the joyful tossing of mikan to eager children in Edo, was approaching, the tempestuous sea roared, making voyages perilous. Panic gripped the hearts of the mandarin orange farmers and the merchants who relied on their bounty.
