Nishiyama Brewery, which was established in 1849, is located in in a rich natural setting of Tamba, Hyogo Prefecture. The name "Kotsuzumi" originates from a famous poet Kyoshi Takahama who after tasting Nishiyama sake described it in his poem as a kotsuzumi, a traditional Japanese hand drum.
Kotsuzumi Tokubetsu Junmai has a subdued aroma and intriguing rice flavour typical to junmai sake combined with nutty elements. Made with a rare sake rice Hyogo Kita Nishiki, which gives it a fresh and lush flavour with a crisp aftertaste.
